Jeremy joined Biosearch in 2010 bringing a wealth of management and business development experience from a commercial service delivery environment as well as holding a degree in Biochemistry. He has successfully delivered his remit to develop the portfolio of analytical services, with operations scaled up threefold and the portfolio extended to include additional specialist analytical services for health and industry compliance, across a wider geographical area.
Karen joined the company over 25 years ago, working initially in Sales and Marketing, before progressing into Quality Management. Karen has overall responsibility for the UKAS ISO 17025 quality management system; compliance with ISO/EU and other legislative requirements for both microbiology and chemistry laboratories; internal quality policies, procedures and implementation; reviewing analytical results for customers; general management of technical and administrative operations as well as recruitment, selection and performance of staff.
Karen is a Chartered Scientist and also holds further qualifications of BMedSc (Hons) and PGCert Management Studies. She is a Member of the Royal Society of Biology and a Member of the NI Area Committee, Institute of Water.
The first point of contact for most of our customers is Bernie, who joined the company back in 1999. Bernie combines overseeing the administration department in the business and her many and varied duties in both reception and accounts, with the responsibility of Deputy Quality Manager, for which she is an internal auditor. Bernie is a Registered Science Technician and a Member of the Royal Society of Biology.
Deby joined the company 17 years ago, after obtaining two years' experience at one of Northern Ireland’s leading food producers, starting as a Laboratory Technician and progressing to her current role in 2006. Deby is responsible for ensuring technical operations meet UKAS, DWTS, M&S & Tesco standards for both food and water laboratories; maintaining management system and equipment records; approval of suppliers of laboratory consumables and equipment; conducting and managing internal audits and assisting with external audits; methodology reviews, existing and new; non-conformance reviews; calculating and applying uncertainty of measurement to test method and liaising with customers.
Deby is a Chartered Scientist and holds a BSc (Hons) Applied Biochemical Sciences with Diploma in Industrial Studies in addition to a Level 5 Award in Leadership and Management (ILM). She is a Member of the Royal Society of Biology and the Society of Applied Microbiology.
Mark has been with the company for almost a decade with additional experience gained in a world-class science organization. Mark has responsibility for method development and optimisation; method validation; adhering to DWTS and ISO 17025 guidelines; preparation of documents and reports; continuous improvement to assist in growth of business; customer liaison; staff training and development.
Mark is a Chartered Chemist, holds a BA (Hons) Chemistry and is the Northern Ireland Secretary of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
